It was so lovely to meet Brodie and his family a couple of weeks ago.
I met Brodie through Jennie at Very Special Kids, Shepparton.
This is a Heartfelt - giving the gift of photographic memories photo session.
(to learn more about Heartfelt - formerly know as ACOCP - please visit http://www.heartfelt.org.au )
This is a story from Brodie's mum :-
Brodie was born with an extremely rare syndrome called OHDO. It took doctors at the Royal Children's Hospital 2 weeks to diagnosis his syndrome. At that stage there were only 13 reported cases world wide with that condition . Doctors first told us he probably only have a couple weeks of survival, but to doctors amazement and Brodie's determination and our's and many operations later he is now 11 years of age.
It hasn't been an easy 11 years but he has bought joy and understanding and patience and persistence and love and happiness into our lives and has taught us so much about him and us as well .
Brodie is vision impaired, hearing impaired and is fed all his requirements through peg feeding into stomach. He is unable to walk and has a heart condition. He is a very happy boy these days and attends a special school 5 days a week .
The first and last time our family has had professional photos taken was Brodie's christening in the Royal children's Hospital and since then we have had another addition to the family,Jai who is 7 and Brodie's big sister Simone is 20 .
So we have been extremely blessed and lucky to be given the opportunity to now have a family photo session done by liz arcus photography and means so much to us as our family is complete now and we are all extremely happy .There is nothing better than looking back on photos of loved ones and rembering the times in our lives of that certain event or happening .
Thankyou Liz for coming into our families life and spending time with us with the photo session and allowing us and our family's to look now and in years to come at our wonderful family .

Some words from Madison's mum -
On Madison and our journey....
It has been a really difficult couple of years for our family on quite a few levels. When Madison was diagnosed with cancer our lives changed instantly, we were absolutely devastated. I wou...ld not wish any family or child to go through this. I suppose living with a child that has a life threatening illness makes you realise how precious life is and how important it is to make good memories and enjoy time together. Things can change so quickly and without warning so you just have to make the most of it!
