Miguel & Cathryn's Australian Wedding
Cathryn & Miguel were married on Friday November 20th at St. Mary's, Echuca.
They travelled up from Melbourne to be married in Echuca, close to Cathryn's family.
But for Miguel it was a lot further from his family.
Miguel is originally from Columbia and met Cathryn in Melbourne. Miguel came to Australia with friends (who were his groomsmen) to learn English. None of Miguel's family could be present at his wedding. Thanks to today's technology his family could watch the ceremony over skype - a laptop & web camera was set up during the ceremony so his mum and dad and family could watch live in Columbia. Someone typed translation to them via skype at the same time. Very special ....
Cathryn travelled to the church via horse and carriage (Billabong Carriages) just after a big dust storm had passed. Rain held off just long enough for the 30 min ride.
After the service under umbrellas we enjoyed wandering around Echuca for some photos before joining the guests at Radcliffe's to celebrate at the reception.
As a surprise, (organised by the best man) video messages from Columbia were played for Miguel and Cathryn... (very moving and very special)
It was a delight to be part of Miguel and Cathryn's wedding day.
Miguel & Cathryn are now enjoying an extended honeymoon & 2nd wedding orgainised by Miguel's family in Columbia
