Aiden
Aiden was sound asleep when i arrived to photograph him. So very special to sneak quietly into his room. His mum and dad were hoping he would wake up happy. Oh my goodness, i along with Aiden's parents, Steven & Bethany had never seen a little one wake up so joyful and wide awake so quickly - just gorgeous.
I photographed Steven and Bethany's wedding last year and it was so lovely to meet and photograph Aiden, their first born in Melbourne just recently.
Roo Arcus
Roo is my brother and singer/songwriter...
These are just a few of my favourites images taken on a recent shoot for Roo - whilst out and about doing some promo shots
I encourage you to join his new facebook page - www.facebook.com/pages/Roo-Arcus
If any of you live in NSW and want to go see him perform, head to the historic Bushranger hotel, at Collector (about 40 mins from Canberra) on Sat September 24th.
Roo Arcus is a singer and songwriter of what can only be descibed as country music in it's truest form.
Although taking interest in the music business quite late, at the age of 22, Roo's talents were soon recognised by his peers. After graduating from Australias first College of Country Music in 1997, relationships were formed with such greats as Slim Dusty, to name but one, which led to extensive touring and even writing for the great man. Slim recorded the song, "Ringers, Rigs and Drivers" on the Album, "Making A Mile".
Roo's first commercial album 'Station Boy' was released in 2000 and with some success. Finalist for 2 Golden Guitar Awards, 3 Top Ten singles and winner of the Independant Male Rising Star Award. Nationwide touring followed as well as a trip to China in 2002.
It appeared as though Roo was well on his way to a solid career within the Industry when life was turned upside down. With the loss of his mother, a severe drought and a young family, things took an unexpected change in direction. He took over the running of the Family Beef Cattle Property on the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales which barely survived the drought. Roo had all but put his dreams of a country music career behind him. But a return to good seasons also brought about a renewed passion to return to what was burning in his soul.
Roo picked up the pen and the guitar once more, and made contact with the one person he thought may be able to help get things back on track...Rod McCormack. Now being that Rod is one of Australia's greatest music producers, songwriters and musicans where all good reasons for meeting, but it was Roo's faith that Rod was the right man for the job for producing the style of country music that Roo wanted to immerse himself in.
So here we are in 2011 and Roo's new album is complete and is all but awaiting a release date. The music is as unmistakably country as Roo himself. No doubt for lovers of authentic country music this album and artist will have huge appeal, and wil fill a void that some may say has been missing in more recent times.
