Congratulations Natalie & Michael. St Josephs at Jerilderie has special memories for me. My Aunt Margie was married there in 1948 and I have some of her wedding photoes taken outside the church with my grandparents. The stained back window at the rear of the church was put in by my family ancestors in memory of my Uncle Edward Daniel Horgan who died in 1943 as a POW on the infamous Burma Railway. I recall the railway station as a young boy arriving and departing on visits to my relatives. One wedding photo was taken on Horgan Walk which was named after my great uncle Michael Daniel Horgan. Was that Father McGrath who conducted the service.
Chris thank you so much for sharing your stories and history. And yes that was Father McGrath who conducted the service.
Chris- I'm constantly amazed at the number of people that have history associated with such a small town. I appreciate you sharing your families stories with us, especially since they have reknowned history with the town.
Liz- thank you for the sneek peek at our photos. I'm glad that you were able to photograph our day and for making the experience enjoyable (and not at all stressful). I now wait with anticipation for the final product.
